If you are in crisis

Please don't wait on an email. In the US, call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, or call 1-800-662-4357 for the SAMHSA National Helpline — free, confidential, 24 hours a day. If someone is in immediate danger, call 911.

DaybreakSobriety Companion

I bought Daybreak Forever but it shows as free

Open the app, go to the purchase screen and tap Restore purchase. Make sure you're signed in to the same store account you bought with — your Apple ID on iPhone, your Google account on Android. Restoring is free and works as many times as you need, on any device you own.

What does Daybreak Forever actually unlock?

Two things: tracking more than one goal at once, and letters to your future self. That's it.

Your day count, your journal, every milestone, the health-recovery timeline, and everything on the "I need a minute" screen — breathing, the ride-it-out timer, your reasons, trusted contacts, and the crisis lines — are free, and always will be.

I'm changing phones. How do I keep my progress?

On the old phone, open the … menu and choose Back up your progress. That copies a snapshot of your goals, journal and reasons to your clipboard — paste it somewhere you can get to later, like a note or an email to yourself. On the new phone, use the same screen to paste it back.

There is no cloud backup, because there is no server. Your data has never left your phone, which also means we cannot restore it for you if it's gone.

The call buttons didn't do anything

This was a real bug on devices without telephony — iPads especially — and it is fixed. If a call can't be placed, Daybreak now shows the number in large text so you can dial it another way rather than appearing to do nothing. Update to the latest version.

Does Daybreak read my contacts?

No. You type trusted contacts in by hand. The app never asks for contacts permission and never reads your address book.

I slipped. Did I lose everything?

No. Your journal stays, your milestones stay, and your best run is remembered. Daybreak is built to help you begin again from experience rather than from zero.

Daybreak is a supportive tool, not treatment. It is not a substitute for medical care, therapy, or professional addiction treatment. If you are physically dependent on alcohol or benzodiazepines, stopping suddenly can be dangerous — please talk to a doctor about withdrawal before you quit.

Debt Free DateSnowball

I bought Pro but it shows as the free version

Open Settings → Restore purchase, signed in to the store account you bought with — Apple ID on iPhone, Google account on Android.

My debt-free date says the payments never clear the debt

That means the minimum payment you entered is smaller than the interest accruing each month, so the balance grows instead of shrinking. It is a real result, not an error. Add an extra monthly payment on the Strategy tab, or raise a minimum, and a real payoff date appears.

Snowball and Avalanche show the same interest

They genuinely are the same for some debts, and the app now says so and explains why. It happens when you're tracking one debt, when your smallest balance is also your highest rate, or when there's no extra monthly payment — with nothing spare to redirect, both plans just pay the minimums in the same order.

Where does my extra payment go?

All of it goes to a single target debt — the smallest balance under Snowball, the highest rate under Avalanche — while every other debt gets its minimum. When that debt clears, its minimum joins the extra and rolls into the next one, so the amount you're putting at your debt grows every time you finish one.

I deleted a debt but its payments are still in Progress

That's deliberate. Paying off a card and deleting it shouldn't erase the record that you paid it. Use Settings → Reset all data if you want to clear everything and start over.

Does it connect to my bank?

No. It has no access to any financial account. Every number in it is one you typed.

Debt Free Date is a calculator, not financial advice. Its projections assume you make exactly the payments you enter and do not account for fees, rate changes, promotional periods ending, or missed payments. For guidance on your own situation, talk to a qualified financial professional or a non-profit credit counsellor.

Both apps

How do I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by the store you bought through, not by us — we can't issue one directly.

Do you collect any of my data?

No. No account, no server, no analytics, no ads, no tracking. Everything stays on your device. The full detail is in our Privacy Policy.

Are these subscriptions?

No. Both apps offer a single one-time purchase. You pay once and keep it.

Something's broken and it isn't listed here

Please tell us: support@onyxoneapps.com. Several of the fixes in recent releases came from people writing in about exactly this, and it's the most useful thing you can send us.
